This Privacy Policy explains what information Aplicco collects when you use our independent DS-160 preparation assistant, how we use it, and the choices you have. Aplicco is not affiliated with the U.S. government.
Information you provide
You provide the answers you enter while preparing your DS-160, along with your account email. Some of these answers are sensitive — your passport number, your date and place of birth, and your travel history. You decide what to enter, and you can edit or delete this information at any time.
Signing in with Google
If you choose "Continue with Google", Google sends us your email address, your name, and confirmation that the address is verified. We use them only to create or find your account and to contact you about it. We never receive your Google password, and we ask for no access to Gmail, Contacts, Drive, or any other Google service. You can revoke our access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
Your passport and duplicate accounts
One passport corresponds to one Aplicco account. To enforce that without keeping a searchable list of passport numbers, we derive an irreversible fingerprint from your passport and store only that; the number itself is kept encrypted and is never shown back to you in full. The fingerprint cannot be turned back into a passport number, and we cannot use it to look anyone up.
How your data is protected
Your preparation data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and the most sensitive fields are additionally encrypted individually. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not transmit your answers to any government system on your behalf.
Deleting your data
You can delete your preparation data and your account from within the app. Deleting your account also releases the passport associated with it, so you can register again later. We remove deleted data from active systems within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements.
Third-party services
We use a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations: hosting, payment processing, and Google for optional sign-in. Payment card details are handled by the payment processor and are never stored by Aplicco.
